Effective January 1, 2009, IRS regulations require tax return preparers to obtain written consent from you, the taxpayer, to use or disclose tax return information. To comply with these regulations, we are providing the following forms necessary for you to provide that consent if you so choose.
In efforts to fully serve our clients, from time to time, we provide them helpful information such as firm newsletters, surveys, published articles, press releases, information concerning firm seminars and nontax-related services, and announcements related to firm personnel. To determine what items may be of interest to you, we will need to use your tax return information.
The "Consent to Use of Tax Return Information" authorizes us to use your tax return information for those purposes. If you wish to receive this type of information, please sign the consent form and mail it to us. The consent is valid for one year from the date signed; however, you may also choose to check the box at the end of the form to extend the authorization period. If you do not want to receive such information, no further action is required by you.
We have also provided a "Consent to Disclosure of Tax Return Information" form. This form is required for us to provide your tax return information to third parties for any purpose other than the preparation and filing of your tax return. For example, this consent form would be required for us to provide tax return information to a bank or loan company for a loan application. This consent is also valid for one year from the date signed unless otherwise designated. You would need to sign and return this form to us only as needed.
We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you. Please contact us at the above number if you have any questions.
